In a rare event, the honour of being called the Prince of Wales Squadron was awarded to the Strathcona’s Recce Squadron for the second year in a row.

On a windy 17th of October 2012, the Regimental Gunnery Warrant Officer, and a crew from A Sqn arrived in Wx to meet the outgoing CDS, Gen Natynczyk, and to give him an opportunity to fire a few rounds from one of the new Leopard 2 Main Battle Tanks.
