Canadian Pacific (CP) & Strathcona Student Scholarship Program 2019
By Major Matt Johns
Canadian Pacific (CP) and the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) [LdSH(RC)] had an exceptionally difficult task selecting this year’s recipients for the CP & Strathcona Student Scholarship. The two organizations have been working hand-in-hand for many years to increase awareness of the many issues that military members and their families face on a daily basis. We apologize for the delay in getting the results out.
All their hard work paid off with the selection of these amazing recipients:
It is a great honour to congratulate the three recipients of this year’s scholarship. Ms. Megha Madan was presented her scholarship by the Regimental Second-in-Command, Major Matt Johns. Ms. Claire Hunter received her scholarship in Gagetown, New Brunswick from her father Major Jamie Hunter and finally Ms. Deanna Anderson-Hay was presented hers by Major-General (ret’d) Cam Ross on behalf of the Regimental Society.
All of these amazing individuals were selected by a panel of LdSH(RC) Regimental Society and CP representatives. They were chosen based on their connection to the Regiment, academic standing, career and educational goals, community service involvement, and level of financial need. Megha, Claire, and Deanna all clearly exemplify the values inherent to the scholarship program.
Once again, on behalf of CP, LdSH(RC), and the entire Regimental family, congratulations to Megha, Claire, and Deanna! The Strathconas would also like to thank CP rail for their generous partnership with the Regimental Society. Their continued contributions allows the scholarship program to continue to improve our communities.
