CP Rail and LdSH(RC) Regimental Society Scholarship Winners
Warm congratulations to Mr Andrew Woodrow of Oromocto, NB, and Mrs Sasha Robinson of Edmonton, AB, on selection as the first two winners of the $5000 Canadian Pacific and Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) Regimental Society Student Scholarship. Sasha was presented her scholarship cheque by LCol Peyton on August 24th in Edmonton. Sasha is the daughter of a retired Strathcona NCO. Likewise, Andrew is the son of a Strathcona senior NCO currently serving at the Armour School, and received his cheque personally from the Commanding Officer on the 8th of August this year during his visit to CFB Gagetown. Both Sasha and Andrew were selected for the scholarship based on their strong academics as well as their community involvement.
We thank CP Rail, our organizational kin, for their generous partnership with the Regimental Society that has made this scholarship possible for these and future recipients. This scholarship will continue to be awarded annually to deserving family members of serving or retired Strathconas pursuing post secondary education, as well as to any Strathcona leaving the military to pursue "transitional training" into railway applicable technical trades. Details on the scholarship program are available on our website under the tab "The Society.
Perseverance.
