Master Warrant Officer K.G. ChubackSquadron Sergeant Major B SquadronMaster Warrant Officer Kyle Chuback began his military career in June 2002 when he enrolled in the Primary Reserve as an Armoured Non-Commissioned Member with The Queen’s York Rangers in Aurora, Ontario.
In December 2004, he transferred to the Regular Force and completed his DP1 training as a Recruit School bypass candidate. Upon arrival at the Regiment in August 2005, he was posted to B Squadron, where he served for the next four years. During this period, MWO Chuback deployed twice in support of Task Force Afghanistan. On Rotation 2, he served as a Troop Leader’s Driver, and on Rotation 5, he deployed as the Gunner for 22C, gaining valuable operational experience during Canada’s combat mission in Afghanistan.
In July 2009, MWO Chuback was posted to the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps School (RCACS). Over the course of his five-year posting, he served in a variety of appointments, including driver, instructor, and member of the Leopard 2 Driver and Maintenance Cell. In this latter role, he played a key part in developing the first Canadian Leopard 2 Driver and Maintenance training package used to support domestic instruction and force generation. He concluded his time at RCACS as a Squadron Operations NCM before returning to Edmonton in 2014.
Upon his return to the Regiment, MWO Chuback was posted once again to B Squadron, where he initially served as 21B. Over the next five years, he held numerous leadership appointments within the squadron, steadily assuming positions of increasing responsibility and influence, culminating in his appointment as 21A.
Following a deployment on Operation UNIFIER as a Company Operations Warrant Officer, MWO Chuback was posted in 2020 to 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron as the Squadron Operations Warrant Officer. In this role, he further broadened his experience in operational planning, coordination, and support within a joint environment.
Returning to the Regiment in July 2023, MWO Chuback was appointed Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant of A Squadron before subsequently assuming the Headquarters Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant position. During this period, he deployed as 89D with Roughneck Company on Operation REASSURANCE 25-01, contributing to NATO deterrence operations in Eastern Europe. Promoted to Master Warrant Officer in June 2025, he was appointed as the Regimental Operations Master Warrant Officer upon his return from deployment. In June 2026, he assumed his current appointment as the Squadron Sergeant Major of B Squadron, where he continues to provide leadership, mentorship, and professional guidance to the soldiers and junior leaders of the squadron.
MWO Chuback resides in Edmonton, Alberta, with his wife, Samantha, and their two daughters. Throughout more than two decades of service, he has distinguished himself through operational excellence, dedication to soldier development, and an unwavering commitment to the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps and the Canadian Army. |
