2023 CPKC/Regtl Society Scholarship Recipients
It brings me great pleasure to bring to your attention the results from the 2023 joint Regimental Society and Canada Pacific and Kansas City Southern (CPKC) Railway scholarship and bursary program. This program was developed to provide educational assistance to family members of Strathconas (both serving and retired) as well as Strathconas taking part in training for railway technical trades.
On the 17th of November, the Commanding Officer Lieutenant-Colonel Darryn Gray, Regimental Sergeant-Major Chief Warrant Officer Nathan Mills, with the Vice-President Mechanical Car CPKC, Brad Robertson had the privilege of presenting $5,000.00 scholarship awards to both Ms. Tara Freeman, and Ms. Hailey Hollingdrake. This year, both recipients were local to the Edmonton Areas, so the presentation was held in the Regimental Lines. Ms. Freeman is currently in her third year of the Doctor of Medicine Program at the University of Alberta, Edmonton. Ms. Hollingdrake is studying to be a Nurse at MacEwan University, Edmonton, Alberta.
On behalf of CPKC, the Regiment and the wider Strathcona family, our warmest congratulations to Ms. Freeman and Ms. Hollingdrake. We wish you continued success in your education. Our very sincere thanks to @canadianpacific for their generous support to this program. For more information about other CP Rail Veteran initiatives, please visit http://www.cpkcr.com/en/careers.
