Chief Warrant Officer K.E. King, CD
Regimental Sergeant Major, 2019-2022
Chief Warrant Officer King was born 18 May 1969 in Amherst, Nova Scotia. He enrolled in the Canadian Forces on the 23rd of February 1989. After completing recruit training at CFRD Cornwallis and TQ3 at CFB Gagetown, he was posted to Calgary Alberta, and was assigned to the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) in September of 1989.
During his 30 years of service, CWO King has served in every Squadron within Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians). The Royal Canadian Armour Corp School and the Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre (CTMC). CWO King has four operational deployments overseas. In 1994, he deployed to Bosnia on Op CAVALIER, as a Tp Leader’s Gunner and also a Crew Commander within B Sqn. In 1997, deployed to Bosnia, on Op PALLADIUM as a Tp Leader’s Gunner and also a Crew Commander within C Sqn. In 2002, he once again deployed to Bosnia on Op PALLADIUM as the Comd’s Dvr within the Task Force HQ. In 2008, CWO King deployed to Afghanistan on Op ARCHER Task Force 3-08, as a Troop WO within A Sqn. From 2017-2019, during his time at CMTC he deployed on four TAVs in support Op REASSURANCE (Latvia), CWO King has three domestic Operations. In 1997, he deployed to the Red River Floods in Manitoba. In 2003, he deployed on Op PEREG1NE to fight the BC forest fires. In 2010, he deployed on Op PODIUM, for Vancouver's 2010 Winter Olympics. Throughout his career, he has been employed in many positions to include, Cougar Gunner and Driver, Leopard CI gunner and Driver, Gunnery and Tactics Instructor, both Sqn and Regimental Gunnery WO, Regimental Ops WO, Squadron Sergeant’s Major of B and HQ and Armour team SM within CMTC. CWO King met his beautiful wife Seema in 1990 and they have been happily married since 1993. They have 2 amazing children Jasmine and Tarin. CWO King is beyond honoured to be given the opportunity to be a part of the command team within the Regiment where he started. |
