Major T.R. McHugh
Officer Commanding A SquadronMajor McHugh enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in 2009 and arrived at the Regiment in 2011. Prior to assuming his current position as Officer Commanding A Squadron, Major McHugh has served at the Regiment as a Tank Troop Leader in A Squadron, Battle Captain Recce Squadron, Second in Command Recce Squadron, and Regimental Adjutant. Extra regimentally, Major McHugh has been employed as the Adjutant of the South Alberta Light Horse, G3 Operations at the Canadian Maneuver Training Centre, and Deputy Commanding Officer, 1st Canadian Ranger Patrol Group.
Major McHugh’s operational experience includes deployments to Afghanistan in 2013, as a Staff Officer in the Afghan National Security Forces Development cell of ISAF Joint Command Headquarters, Operation ATTENTION Roto 3; Ukraine in 2017 as G3 Operations, Operation UNIFIER, Roto 3; Latvia in 2020 as the S1 for the eFP Battle Group on Operation REASSURANCE, Roto 12. Major McHugh has a BA in Philosophy from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. He spends most of his spare time enjoying food, drink, and contemplating the human condition. |
