Lieutenant-Colonel P.J. Peyton, CD

Lieutenant-Colonel Paul Peyton was born in Goose Bay, Labrador. He enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1989 and was posted to Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) in 1991.
Paul’s Regimental employment comprises Troop Leader positions in Reconnaissance Squadron and B Squadron, Second in Command of Reconnaissance Squadron and B Squadron, Regimental Adjutant, and Officer Commanding A Squadron. His extra-Regimental experiences include postings to the Armour School, the Combat Training Centre, Army Staff Directorate of Land Force Readiness, and Canadian Expeditionary Forces Command. Most recently he completed a posting with Chief Force Development as a section head within the Directorate of Capability Integration.
Paul’s operational experience commenced in 1994 with a deployment to Bosnia as a B Squadron Troop Leader in the Strathcona Battle Group during Operation Cavalier, United Nations Protection Force. He returned to the Balkans in 2002 as G3 of the Canadian National Command Element during Operation Palladium, Canada’s contribution to the NATO Stabilization Force. In 2006 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom he deployed to Afghanistan as Commanding Officer of the Afghan National Training Centre (Canadian Detachment). His most recent deployment was from 2010 to 2011 as Deputy Commander Task Force Jerusalem, Operation Proteus.
Paul holds a B.A. from the Royal Military College of Canada and a Masters in Military Arts and Science. He has completed the US Combined Manoeuvre Officer’s Advanced Course, Canadian Land Force Command and Staff College, and is a graduate of the Mubarak Al Abdullah Joint Command and Staff College (Kuwait).
Paul is married to Tiffany (née verge) of Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is the proud father of sons Mitchell age 15 and Liam age 12. |
