LCol J. Cade, CD

Lieutenant-Colonel Jamie Cade was born on 21 June 1961 in Barrie, Ontario. Raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, he entered the Army in June 1979. A graduate of Royal Roads Military College with a Bachelor Degree in Military and Strategic Studies, he joined Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) in Calgary, May 1984. His first Regimental tour (1984 – 87) was as a Troop Leader with Reconnaissance Squadron and Tank Troop Leader with the Royal Canadian Dragoons in Germany. His second tour in Calgary (1990 – 93) saw service with Headquarters and C Squadrons, and as the Regimental Operations Officer. From 1995 to 97 he served as a Squadron Commander with Reconnaissance and A Squadrons. In 1997, A Squadron deployed to Bosnia with the 2nd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry as part of SFOR. Lieutenant-Colonel Cade’s Extra Regimental Employments (ERE) have included tours at the Armour School in Gagetown, New Brunswick (1987 – 89), Land Force Western Area Headquarters in Edmonton (1993 – 95) and two tours in National Defence Headquarters, Ottawa (Army Operations Staff (DLFR 3) 1997- 2000 and J3 International Operations 2001 - 02). In 2000, Lieutenant-Colonel Cade graduated from the Australian Army Command and Staff College in Queenscliffe, Australia, receiving a Masters of Defence Studies from the University of Canberra. Jamie and his wife, Beth, have a daughter, Jenny, and son, David. |
