Soldiers of D and HQ Squadrons conducted work up training in preparation for their take over the staffing of the 3 CDSB Base Auxiliary Security Force (BASF).  Each soldier was trained to set up snap and deliberate vehicle check points, deploy obstacles, conduct vehicle and personnel searches, and detainment procedures. Working alongside MPs from CFB Edmonton, the soldiers put their skills to the test, culminating in a 4 day Ex STEELE BARRIER.  The North (Korea) Gate at CFB Edmonton was used to conduct a series of scenarios to challenge our team’s ability to carry out a successful vehicle check point – under the ever present threat of Donovian instigators – played by MCpl Matt “Belliavov” Belliveau and his acolytes. The exercise was a success and LdSH(RC) will confidently assume its role in the security of personnel at CFB Edmonton should the need arise.
