LdSH(RC) is the lead mounting unit for Rotation seven, Operation Impact in the Middle East. Soldiers throughout the Joint Operations Area (JOA) have been helping foster regional stability by building positive rapport with allied coalitions. Each outstation plays a different role in helping grow regional stability and increasing the capacity of partner nations. CTAT-Jordan works primarily with the JAF (Jordanian Armed Forces) by providing training and knowledge and has a Female Engagement team focused on building the strength of women in the JAF. CTAT-Lebanon does similar training with the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) however due to the deteriorated economic and political situation, has a different set of challenges for the CAF serving members.

As a Duty Officer of Joint Task Force-Impact Head Quarters (JTF-I HQ) in Kuwait, our J3 operations team is the direct liaison between outstations and Canadian Joint Operations Center (CJOC) in Ottawa. Along with the passing of information, our team primarily deals with the planning and approval of movements within and outside the JOA for Operation IMPACT. The JOC (Joint Operations Center) is also open 24/7 in case of emergencies, alerts or for critical information to be passed within Camp Canada and the JOA on a moment’s notice. Here at the JOC, we also provide the necessary coordination with our allied counter parts to ensure smooth operations locally in Kuwait as well as the JOA.

For many soldiers their experiences in the Middle East has broadened skillsets and fostered new relations and friendships with fellow allied/surrounding nations, leading the way for a stronger NATO.
