Squadron Sergeant Major B Squadron


MWO Englehart was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, and enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in October 1997.  He completed Basic training at CFLRS in St Jean Quebec and completed Battle School in Wainwright Alberta in February 1998, he was posted to A Sqn LdSH(RC).

After arriving to the Regiment MWO Englehart completed his first PCF course and was employed as a Coyote driver.  In 2000 He deployed with A Sqn as part of the 3PPCLI Battle Group to Zagon, Bosnia.  Upon return to Canada he was moved to C Sqn, during his time in C Sqn he completed his Leopard gunnery course and was employed as a gunner and loader before being assigned to B Sqn in 2002.  As a member of B Sqn MWO Englehart deployed to Kananaskis AB in support of the G8 summit and back to Bosnia as part of the 1 PPCLI Battle Group. Upon return to Canada he deployed with B Sqn to the BC fires in 2003, after returning to Edmonton was employed in HQ Sqn and RHQ before being posted to Royal Canadian Armour Corps School in 2005.

MWO Englehart was employed as a driver at the Armd School until completing his Armoured Reconnaissance Crew Commander course and being promoted to MCpl in 2006. From 2006 -2008 MWO Englehart taught DP1 Armoured crewmen courses and completed several career courses such as Armoured Gunnery Instructor, Reconnaissance patrol commander and Tank Crew commander. He finished his time at the school as a member of Army Instructor Gunnery team.  He was promoted to the rank of Sgt and posted back to the Regiment in 2008.

Upon his return to the Regiment MWO Englehart was posted into C Sqn and deployed for his third tour overseas, this time to Afghanistan with Task Force 1-09 as a Tank Commander in SHQ.  Upon completion of his deployment, MWO Englehart was employed in Recce, C and A Sqn.  It was with A Sqn he deployed to Portage la Prairie in support of the Manitoba floods in 2011.   
MWO Englehart was promoted to WO and returned to B Sqn in June 2012 as a Troop WO, he moved to RHQ and was deployed to Canmore AB in support of the Calgary floods in 2013.  In RHQ he was employed as the Trg WO, RGWO and Regimental Ops WO before returning to B Sqn as the SQMS in 2015.  In June 2016 he was appointed Sergeant-Major A Sqn and was promoted to his current rank in Dec 2016.  He deployed on Operation Unifier as the Camp Sergeant-Major in 2017 and was appointed Sergeant-Major B Squadron upon his return.  

MWO Englehart enjoys camping and traveling with his wife Michelle and son Rylan.
